The people who commit these crime are usually loners and have mental issues that caused them to be alienated by others.

Blaming guns is not the solution, I believe in some form of gun control but I don't think full gun control will prevent mass murders.

Take the mass murder of 33 people in Japan. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-49027178

The person who started the fire was upset that his personal works was copied by the animation studio so he set the place on fire. No guns and weapons was used.

CA knife attack that kills 4 people. https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/08/us/ca...cks/index.html

So what now? We ban knives, pressure cookers, hammers, etc?

Blame video gaming. OK, this is another new and refreshing topic. Many Asian countries has always had violent content from video games, animes, TV, and movies. Yet, majority of those countries have violent crime rates lower than the US.

We haven't addressed how social media, the media itself, and how we deal with people with mental illness.

The Ohio shooter had red flags but the people who associated with him did not report to authorities or know where to contact. But they suspected he could do something as heinous as shooting people.

That's the problem we have in society, we see and hear stuff but we don't report or tell the person that is not right.

Banning guns or weapons will just cause people to stock up or get them illegally.

We are designed by God to relate to others in real life. When that doesn't happen, things can go wrong.

Loners take in all of this information (true or fake)... they don't talk through the issues with others, and end up trying to solve the issues in their own way.

Either that... or they are on some jihad.

By your logic, we should lock up everyone with a mental illness or who likes to be alone.

I never said lock them up, there should be intervention. It's not so simple, most loners are harmless but some have deviant minds should be monitored. They should be scored based on their psychic eval. If you want to prevent future mass murders there needs to be a task force that deals with people who are ticking bombs. Take away the weapons, they will find another way.

Youíre going to take everyone who likes to spend time alone and force them to take an evaluation which is likely going to be based on pseudoscience?

What happens if it turns out you can DNA test for mass murderer tendencies?

Oh sure. Blame the introvert.

Preferring serenity does not equate to killing a bunch of people in Walmart.

It is true that many mass murderers are often loners and/or people with mental issues. However, most people with such conditions don't commit violent crimes. I wonder what it is about some that sets them off to the point of committing such violent acts.

Yep, DNA testing and profiling is already being used to predict crime and probability. It has not been used in a criminal court case yet because it hasn't been proven yet. I believe in 20 years it will be introduced as a way to score people on their propensity to commit crime or violence. Everyone is a product of their ancestors.

We are not there yet like the movie Minority Report.

You don't see the flaw in your logic there, do you?

The exact same thing can be said for extroverts: It's not so simple, most social butterflies are harmless but some have deviant minds should be monitored.
