Chill out. Statistically one is more likely to die in a car wreck than in a mass shooting.

I'm glad more people are carrying.

I want to get a concealed carry myself, just haven't gotten around to it.

Also more likely to get struck by lightning.

The mindset that produced these paragraphs seems unhealthy and unreasonable.

That feeling of caution is in the air despite the reality of numbers that tell us the chances of actually being a victim of a mass shooting are remote. My daughter and I were in a Jewish deli today for lunch and we both admitted to sharing a feeling of apprehension that some random Anti Semite might show up to do harm.

Agree that it's a bad headline.

"Motivated" maybe.... not petrified. Petrified people don't usually make useful choices.

The rest of you can argue all you want about how to stop people from wanting to do bad things. Until you figure it out, my best chance is to defend myself.

Are people "petrified" if they buy a fire extinguisher after their neighbor starts a kitchen fire, and it brings home the fact that it could happen to anyone?
Nobody buys a fire extinguisher because of fear their neighbours or a stranger might kill them with another fire extinguisher.
