One of our best friends years ago used the N word a lot. As did a cousin of mine, calling them all sorts of inappropriate names. Neither are in my life anymore. Another cousin actually said they couldn't vote for Obama because there couldn't be a black man in the White House. Close enough?

I'd classify that as racist but not necessarily white supremist. I had an uncle that used the N word. And he was a catholic priest.

These people thought they were superior to people of color. It was very apparent by the way they talked about them.
