Reality both parties do.

And the recent concern of letting folks in because they will 'take' American jobs (Republican policy) is in direct contradiction of the fact that there is a shortage of labor for jobs that many immigrants could easily take on.
Actually there isn't. I just posted the latest Labor Dept report.
That article is pure propaganda.

Then give them status. They don't have to be citizens. Green Card holders have to pay tax, get no voting benefit.

There are jobs available.

Those food processing plants in Mississippi -- the employers should be required to process green card applications for all the workers that have no record (of course other than the illegal working issue).....and help these folks get status.

They are working, have jobs, are part of a community.

Most of the communities impacted by the raids in Mississippi are small and rely on those businesses for the health and well being of the towns.

It benefits Americans as well as those willing to work in those plants.

I understand the frustration with the system and it needs to be changed.

But how long were some of those people allowed to work here...for years...and they probably pay tax.....but don't get the tax benefit.

I suspect that these immigrants aren't the ones lining up for hand outs. I suspect they are like the ones I met in Georgia -- through church and school, that would do ANYTHING to stay away from handouts because they don't want to be 'found out' or perceived as being lazy.

With a lot of babies being born everyday, we are not exactly short of labor in this country.

Why are there people flipping greaseburgers for minimum wage?

Could it be that they could not fulfill a better job?

They mean, there is a lack of people to exploit.
100% correct. These businesses are just mad that for once, supply and demand isn't giving them such a disproportionate amount of negotiating power.

Now that illegals aren't flooding the market, American workers will finally have some actual leverage.

I hope efforts are continued to keep illegals out.

Did anyone notice that the tweet is about the recent ICE raids and yet the article that the link goes back to is dated March 2019 ?

I find it amusing to see liberals line up with corporate interests in the quest to keep importing low skilled, uneducated, poor illegal immigrants by the millions. If you want to know why wages for those at the lowest end of the socio-economic scale have not gone up in a generation, here is the answer. It's about time we allowed wages for the lowest skilled Americans to increase. If the job is unappealing (such as slaughterhouses, etc), then the wage rate should increase until legal workers are willing to take it. This is how a true free market economy works.

Liberals are such hypocrites! They b*tch and moan about the rich getting richer and yet they want their cheap, illegal slaves to be able to remain here which is one of the things that make the rich, richer. Makes no sense to me.

Without immigrants, we'd be losing population.

Every woman in the United States needs to have 2.1 children to have zero population growth.

Birth rate in the United States: 1.8 children.
