I find this statement puzzling. What do you call it when an employer decides to hire staff, budgets for the new hires, adds one or more positions to the org chart, and then starts looking for employee(s) to fill the slot(s)?

There is a reason why illegals are hired for those jobs.
Most likely because you would have to pay an American more to work in that chicken processing plant than an illegal.

Before we adopted this open border concept those plants got caught paying smugglers to bring illegals into the country to work there.

As I posted earlier:
illegals don't complain
illegals won't form unions
illegals won't go to the authorities

Illegals don't go on workers comp when they get hurt at work; they get fired. Company saves money this way.

Illegals work OT without getting extra OT hourly rate. Companies save money this way.

Companies love illegals. And GOP politicians love companies, thus they look the other way when companies employ illegals. They allow the companies to play dumb about it. Even the president's own companies play dumb about illegals.

It's acceptable practice to allow companies to employ illegals with very little punishment to the companies and the Republicans won't ever change this. GOP politicians only tout the wall to get votes. Fakery. The GOP would require E-Verify nationwide if they cared one iota about illegals. Not a peep about E-Verify.

We don't need to breed at replacement levels anyway. A smaller population would be much healthier and prosporous for us all. We don't need all of these fast food restaurant chains, etc. on every corner that aren't jobs that one can make a living at which creates a demand for more cheap "immigrants". They end up subsidizing their cheap wages via our taxes, deplete our natural and social resources and create overcrowded conditions everywhere.

I do disagree with you about the wall though. Where the good physical barriers have been erected already they have been 90% effective in deterring illegal entry. Criminals and terrorists aren't looking for jobs and unless we deny the children of illegal aliens our birthright citizenship they will still come for the benefits from that. E-verify I'm all for though but better to stop them from getting into our country in the first place where they are much harder to weed out and more expensive to do so.

If you feel so strongly against abortion are you willing to help pay the cost of raising the child.

I would not put the onus on only the Republicans.
Remember mandatory e-verify got pulled from ACA before it got signed ?

These companies and the government have a relationship.
When the illegals get caught the company pays the government money and then goes back to doing what they are doing.

Pretty much akin to the Mafia and their protection racket.

This back and forth game with illegals is a source of revenue to the Federal Government.
Both parties talk a lot but neither party has done anything about it since Eisenhower.

Oh, many years ago a local farmer on the East End of Long Island wrote in the local paper that he could not get anyone to work his fields picking the crops. He said he put ads in all the local papers and nobody applied.

His own teenage children refused as well saying that got a job at (AC) McD's or in Summer Camps for little kids. Solution? Pick Your Own Strawberries, Apples, Pumpkins, etc., to the General Public. Nobody wanted to do it for paid wages, but did it for themselves and day out in the country.

Do you prefer the term job opening? You do understand that when a company determines that a position is needed to meet a certain business need that they will list the position on their career website and then people can apply for the job and eventually they will extend an offer to someone who accepts the offer and then becomes employed by said company and begins to work in said position. For the duration of time that the position is listed but not filled it is considered an “open job.” Is that economically literate enough for you?

Utter nonsense! It has been the Republicans in congress who have presented e-verify bills but the Democrats won't sign it unless there is a massive amnesty attached to it. Trump has had e-verify in his last two budgets probably voted down by the Democrats again. I have posted the links numerous times in here. Trump uses e-verify on all of his properties now.
