I would call it 'harassment' not pressure. The Fed never had to deal with a president who thought and acted as if the country was his personal piggy bank.

The POTUS is probably angry that he started with a vast inheritance 40 years or more back and has made almost no ROI, whereas guys like Bezos who started from scratch and actually did things have 50X or more the wealth.

He'll try to remedy that by making us all as broke (or as bad of an ROI) as he has.

He doesn't care about the trade inequities, the farmers or anyone else. He cares about his financial success and making sure the stock market facilitates that.

He is angling to lower interest rates and then get a trade deal with China for super charging the market and our economy to ensure victory in 2020...and I think it will work.

If anything, the fact that were slowing down now proves that the corporate tax cuts were a failure. If you believe supply-side theory, you would expect that large scale capital investments would be benefiting the economy now, 12-36 months after the tax cuts were initiated. They're not, and now Trump has no more tools left in the tool box. What is he going to do, lower taxes again? We're already seeing some of the biggest deficits in US history.

Trumps inability to grasp basic economics should be shocking to anyone who is the least bit informed.

Shocking? I should say.

Alas, the payday loan corporate giveaway that was supposed to juice the economy, did not.

Federal deficit has doubled and last I read, the U.S. will reach the debt ceiling in September.

Good times.

Considering they barely raised rates during the "economic recovery", they barely have anything to cut.

Unless they are planning negative interest rates

Not a day goes by without leftists spewing hate towards Trump en mass, often making erroneous and patently false claims to justify their hatred. For most leftists, Trump can do no right, especially when he is doing right for America.

BTW, China chose to no longer buy our agricultural products. Trump did not force them to take such drastic measures. Now China's population is suffering from rising food prices and a decline in consumer product prices. The money they have managed to save will be worth less as China's currency loses value. Currency wars generally follow trade wars.

Right now, only about 20% of Americans are seeing any real impact from the trade war. Most Americans are happily, blissfully unaware, and they don't care to learn about all this stuff you are complaining about. Life is not perfect, but it wasn't perfect before, that's all most people know. Leftists bullying and threatening people to buy into their rhetoric is more a burden than a trade war with China at the moment.
I can tell by the way he acts and what he says exactly the kind of person he is and what he cares about. Narcissistic personalities aren't capable of empathy or caring about anybody else. All they're interested in is getting their narcissistic supply met, thus all the rah rah rallies.

I keep hearing about all he's doing for America. I don't know how he does anything, as all he seems to have time for is tweeting, golfing and rallying. I would love for him to do right. I don't call separating kids from their families, doing away with regulations that help keep our water and air safe, allowing horrific killing of wildlife, denying a climate change that is going to affect him and everybody else, thus not doing anything to try and mitigate the damage (although I don't think there is anything we can do) "doing right by America." He is a xenophobic and misogynistic bully, who denigrates our own citizens by telling them to return to the countries they came from, labeling Mexicans as rapists and drug dealers, etc. The list goes on and on.

I never said life was perfect. Of course we have had our problems. But noWhere have I ever bullied or threatened anybody. I have expressed opinions, which is my right. I will continue to do so. I would never even be on this forum as much as I am had we elected any of the other Republican candidates, as much as I disliked them. I was a life-long Republican myself until 2004.

BTW, Trump is the reason China is choosing not to buy our agricultural products. Just like Trump likes to brag that he won't be bullied, it looks like China holds that same philosophy.

I have never wished for any of those things. Ever. Why is pointing out what Trump is doing to this country wishing for its demise? It's because we love this country that we're so appalled by what he is doing to it.
