There is very little treatment for bi polar. Lithium has been used to treat bipolar 1 which doesn’t work for many. Bipolar 2 is treated with lamictal which also doesn’t work for many

According to this, bi-polar people are actually 20 times more likely than the general population to try to kill themselves.
