Because the billions we've already spent there have accomplished so much.
How do politicians get so rich? They take kickbacks from foreign aid

You don't want any wall anyway because of whatever agenda you have so what's it to you?

2) Does that funding go through the executive only? Because that can change every 4 years
3) Is Mexico patrolling the border from their side to prevent damage to the wall? They have power tools and vehicles in Mexico too
4) This helps for the minority of illegal aliens, overstaying VISA's is by far a larger issue but they fly in so wall doesn't matter.

Just some thoughts.

I'm not sold on the solution of a wall for thousands of miles stopping determined people from getting through. I'm not sold on the idea that the wall will be maintained in the future. A house built on executive orders is only effective for that executive's term in office, so MAX 8 years in the USA. Not a very long time for a permanent structure that will need regular upkeep and patrolling. I have seen no push in congress from either party to fully fund the wall and upkeep from either party, Mitch McConnell wants no part it seems.
At the very most the good physical barriers will only be 1,000 miles of the border not 2,000. We only need them on the most porous areas of the border. A budget can and will include maintenance on the wall. You are creating scenarios that don't and won't exist.

For the umpteenth time most illegals here were border jumpers and that's what the wall is for not visa over stayers they will just have to be dealt with in a different way. Why does it have to be either or?

All those hundreds of thousands that marched up to our border recently weren't going to be visa over stayers. Many of them jumped our border illegally.

Doesn't matter what you aren't sold on. The facts show that the good physical barriers have been very effective in deterring illegal entry including the sentiments of the Border Patrol and Homeland Security. You know better than them?

Your clueless or bitter or both. 18 foot tumbleweeds and sand piles?? The wall is made of steel, it will last.

Liberals will wake up sometime late next to see that 400 miles have been or in the process of being built and say “how did that happen?”

Let's face it these anti-wall people have an agenda and it's because they want the flow of illegals to continue. They fool no one!

Loony Left doesn't want a physical barrier. They want technology.

How about armed drones? That would work really, really well.

They don’t have to be lethal.

But are you telling me conservatives are primitive?

Nothing primitive about good walls. If that were so then why do we have them around our homes, businesses and including the White House? They are a deterrant and work well against most unwanted intrusion.

This actually is making me emotional, and in a good way. For far too long, we've had politicians talk a good talk, to include both Republicans and Democrats, who voted to build (but not fund) a wall during the administration of GWB. Of course, since then, Democrats had a change of heart (I wonder why) and now oppose all efforts to build a wall.

Its is amazing to have a president seeing through with his campaign promises. To date, over $1 billion has been awarded in contracts to build the wall along our southern border. At an estimated $20 million a mile, the overall allocation of funds (we're talking about $7 billion-ish I believe), the current year's allocation to the border wall will make a serious dent. I'm waiting to see what cuts DoD and other departments will make to their budget to support the wall efforts in the next fiscal year!

For all the naysayers who say the wall is useless, its already proven effective where it is built. And just look to Israel.
"to include both Republicans and Democrats, who voted to build (but not fund) a wall during the administration of GWB"

During the obama admin time BOTH the president AND the dems from BOTH the House and the Senate voted FOR AND the funding of "walls".
Why the 180 degree change NOW?

"For all the naysayers who say the wall is useless" there are videos of the current Border Patrol head stating how the NEW walls are ALREADY showing a REDUCTION in attempts to cross where the NEW walls are.
