I don't care what motivates them. We spend a fortune on bases and Germany's defense and we have since the end of WW II. We owe them nothing . They have money to burn on their own citizens, as we should be doing, because we are their shield. Let them stand alone or pay for our services.

We don't spend money on defending Germany to defend Germany -- we do it to protect our own interests.

Seriously kids -- this is not complicated.

You have to be naive to think that the USA sets up military bases around the world soley to protect the rest of the world.

This is one area where I absolutely agree with Trump. The NATO numbers are staggering. If you belong to any club and one guy (who is in big time debt) is footing the bill, while most are shirking, that is a recipe for eventual demise of the club.
