Amazing that people are clamoring for communism in the country that fought tooth and nail against it.

Reminds me of a Denver politician who wants to usher in Communism "by any means necessary"

America hasn't seen uncontrolled capitalism in the lifetime of any person alive today. We certainly have not lived in an unrestrained capitalist society in the working lives of any modern person.

this thread is the typical rantings of the loony left creating a fake boogieman then bashing non progressives for being equal to the boogie man.

this is a function of the left not having a valid solution for a single issue in 40 years.

Yes, it is horrifying. Because, of course, you don't have any food on your table, corporate CEO's are literally raping you daily, you have no source of income or any way to provide for yourself or family because you cannot secure the basic provisions necessary in order to sustain life. All the fault of corporations, of course. Corporations are doing everything they can to make you miserable. You have no time to do anything (especially spend your days arguing politics on CD forums) because you are out gathering miner's lettuce for your skeleton-thin family members, who of course are so weak and disease-ridden they can't pick themselves off from the dirt floor of your refrigerator crate home. All the fault of corporations.

Hypocrite (noun): one who condemns corporations as he pecks his condemnations on a computer built by a corporations using electricity generated by a corporation via the internet provided by a corporation whilst sitting in a home built from materials provided by corporations, sipping a quadruple latte brewed from ingredients provided by a corporation.

I don't know about them but I don't. No one else will hire me.

The way capitalism is working now is actually horrifying so it does need to be reformed. It's certainly eating me...kicking me until I fall over. I will not be surprised if I actually end up pushing up daisies if something doesn't change soon.

Frank, this is really a pretty poor example. Deer species, excluding a few, like the Key deer and some subspecies of moose, are not endangered, because we have killed off pretty much all of their predators. In fact, in many places in the country, hunting (along with relocation and various birth control strategies) is actually a management tool, as many deer will starve in the winter if the herd is not thinned. In order for deer to become actually scarce, we would have to have a LOT more deer hunters, extended seasons, etc.

But it is a fact that we have hunted to extinction or at least local extinction, many species, and especially predator species, prairie birds and other birds. So for many endangered species, maintaining no-hunt zones is the name of the game. There are few other tools in a lot of situations. I am not denying that black markets may exist, but that is NOT a good reason allow hunting that may kill off a species.

But you have the freedom now. You can choose to quit and go find a different job or create your on job / business. You have the freedom to do what you want! With communism you have no choice, no freedom to and be what you want to be. Healthy checks on capitalism are good, but don't think for a moment that you will feel better under communism.

I see what you are saying but that is not totally true. “Capitalism” or any economic form does not exist in a vacuum. There are laws and rules that it works within. For example, NAFTA and the opening of the Chinese market had as much to do with diminishing the middle class as anything. Technology is and will continue having a huge impact on the types of jobs available and what those jobs look like and how much they pay. Immigration fro better or worse has an impact. Etc.

Nothing wrong with companies making money. But when itís out of control and they practically control everything and cause harm, then itís an issue.

How do companies come to such a pass?
