In order for capitalism to work the supply and demand on the labor side needs to be kept in check. You cant have unlimited amounts of unskilled or even low skilled poor people flooding into the country it just won’t work. You’re going to end up with stagnant wages and really bad inequalities. Same can be said on the social services side, we don’t have an unlimited amount of resources to take care of all these people. If these people are poor and need tons of social services in Central America they’re going to be poor and require social services here. We used to do a good job at making sure our immigrants had capital and/or some sort of skill and were more or less self sustainable we no longer seem to care. Creating big problems.

In a perfect free-market world, where there was a completely free exchange of labor, goods, services, etc without state controls, open borders would work.

However, in our system with government controls, the social welfare system, workers' rules and compensation, safety regulations, etc, you cannot have citizens who operate under one system and illegals under another. Such a system negatively impacts those at the bottom rung of the legal employment system in favor of the less costly illegal supply.

Apparently what the Democrats want is a continuation of the status quo, whereby we have a hybrid system where American citizens work under protections provided by the government, and they want brown people from other countries to be exploited.

I'd certainly love to hear it explained otherwise.

While I totally agree, what democrats also want is their plantation to vote. That's why they won't get rid of birthright citizenship, ensure integrity in voter id, and want amnesties.

That is a disgusting and ignorant comment.

Lots of born Americans on welfare working for employers who don't pay a living wage.

Those kinds of employers don't care who you are as long as you will work for scraps.

The difference between illegals and slaves, two exploitable forms of cheap labor, is about $6 per hour.

Sure why not?
It's been mentioned time after time that there already is an agricultural guest worker visa program that has no caps on it.

Sleazy farmers refuse to use this visa program and instead opt for cheap, exploitable, illegal labor. When crackdowns happen, the honest farmers who use the program have no problems getting their crops picked. It's the sleazy farmers who hire illegals that you see on TV whining about losing their illegals. I have no sympathy for them.

Up until this point, I'm fine with it but then it happens....

The caller complains that several companies that provide home service are upset because THEY PAY THESE IMMIGRANTS SUPER LOW WAGES SO THEY RELY ON FOODSTAMPS ETC. THEY'RE CONCERNED THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND ENOUGH WORKERS. (Hey, wasn't that the complaint for years against Walmart? Now it's ok I guess. )

I'm hearing this and thinking well gee, with supply and demand won't that mean they would have to pay more to fill those jobs? Whatever happened to the push for higher min wage?

In short, the complaint was that companies wouldn't have as much exploitable cheap labor.

That's it in a nutshell folks. Corporate America exploits illegal and legal immigrants for cheap labor that suppresses wages not only for them but throughout blue collar labor in the USA.

They've waged a great campaign by funding both the left and the right, any complaints about the system are deemed "racist" (talk about flipping complaints about exploitation huh? That's like a masters class in evil right there).

I wish people like you would STOP with ALL INCLUSIVE claims.

They can always go back to where they came from if they don't like what they are paid here.

Yeah. It's total BS.
Progs and NeverTrumpers want us to believe that illegals make $5/hour while working alongside citizens who make $12.50.
