Acquiring a "black market" gun is not a violation of natural law.

Acquiring a stolen gun (assuming you know it is stolen) is a violation of natural law.

I'm asking what you think should be the penalty, not what current law states.

Why would you think that someone who's gone through the trouble of planning to kill someone with a gun would care about 6 years on top of the time they'll get for attempted murder?

I don't believe in any involuntary 3rd party sanctions against individuals.

Just pointing out that there's a huge difference between acquiring non-State approved articles of property vs known stolen articles of property.

Knowingly whether the person stole it from a house or car or went to the dark web to buy an illegal gun

They should have to listen to Ted Nugent on a loop continuously for five years.

Stealing a gun or buying one on the black market doesn't mean they plan on killing someone or doing a mass murder. There are thousands of guns stolen every day, most are used in robberies. I personally think the penalty should be very stiff.
