Says you, not the courts yet. Do you often convict people without allowing the criminal justice system to do its job first? E-verify isn't mandated everywhere so they can't be prosecuted for that. If congress would get their act together it would be mandated in every workplace but the Democrats won't go along with it unless their is massive amnesty attached to it.

It's simply not true that the employers aren't held accountable when it is proven that they "knowingly" had illegals working for them.

Except that e-verify isn't required under federal law and most states have not required it either. Even under e-verify, though, as other have mentioned its relative easy to "beat" the system if you have the appropriate stolen identification.

As for them "knowing" they were employing illegal immigrants, if this can be proven, then they need to be locked up or fined. But that is still something that the government has to prove.

It all comes to down proving as a legal matter that the corporation knew that the people were illegal immigrants when they hired them.

E-Verify isn't required under federal law and most states don't mandate it.

While Mississippi does require E-Verify, as others have mentioned this system is not fool proof and illegal immigrants can easily get around it if they have the right stolen identification information. Now, I have a hunch that this corporation probably knew that the workers weren't legal, but my hunch is insufficient to prove legal wrongdoing.

Just showing up for a job opening means nothing. We'll see how many are qualified (not druggies, alkies, over 50, assorted bums and losers) and how many will be able to stay at that kind of work more than a month. This is hardly the first time a raid like this has happened. The plant will either be out of production or will be hiring illegals again soon.

They will not hire illegals again. Some managers will go to jail, no doubt, as Swift corp managers did.

This is great news. More Americans employed due to illegals getting caught.

No doubt, tons more employment actions by ICE to follow.

There’s no criminal law against hiring an illegal. Crime could be harboring, producing false IDs, tax evasion. -all pay up n go home penalties- facts

They already had a legal work force. They got rid of them all when the workers wanted better conditions and better pay.

Now that a recessions is hitting and the GOP has kept the lid on min. wage increases, those dang American workers will know better then to expect that they live in an advanced country.

Sure they had a choice so hey, why not hire only Americans and then pay higher taxes to pay for all the illegal aliens that come here. Hey, we can be their servants
