That makes us unsafe. They are causing instability in our country by dividing us even more than we do ourselves.
Wait.

Trump was proved innocent and correct on that. What part of that did you miss?

Innocent and correct on what I saw him say myself? What did you miss?

Try some searching.

A very simple answer is that ALL and ANY money that Don and his family have at the moment is due to Russians. He was broke as recently as 2009/2010.

Do your research.
Ok, so how has “helping Trump get elected” benefited them?

Little Donnie has been most reluctant to impose sanctions on his sweetie. There's a start.

First, any country automatically benefits by having America as a friend. They can get better trade deals, right?

I suggest you do a search to find some of the excellent articles written on the subject. But one example would be that Russia wanted to get the U.S. to repeal the Magnitsky Act. One example would be that Russia wanted Trump to withdraw from some defense treaties, allowing Russia to escalate. One example would be that Trump could potentially withdraw support from countries that Russia wanted to influence.

There is also wide agreement that Putin really hates Hillary, so there may have been some element of revenge.

Have you seen the state of NATO lately? That alone is solid ROI for Putin.

No such innocence was proved.

Read the report. There is a lot of troubling info in it. Including 'collusion', just not proof of criminal conspiracy.

What benefits has Russia gotten?
Weakened alliances.
Particularly Turkey, loss of sales of the F-35 to them and buying S-400s from Russia. An outright failure to enforce the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act.
More trade and deeper ties between Russia and China as a result of our trade war.
Growth of Russian influence in the Middle East and Asia.
Weakening of arms control.
A further divided and weakened United States.

You can be sure Trump phoned his buddy , Putin, and said " Look, the heat is on me to do SOMETHING, so how about I impose a couple of small sanctions on Russia, and it will look like we are really being tough on you ?"
