You beat me to it !

This isn't to say that we shouldn't (we MUST) do something about unstable, hateful people being able to get and use guns in a horrific manner. But we also need to be honest that there is a lot of exaggeration going on here. If people truly cared about gun violence, they would talk more about the thousands of blacks and Latinos that die every year (at the hands of other blacks and Latinos) via handgun. But that doesn't fit the racial narrative, so the media is SILENT!
They DO talk about the thousands of blacks and Latinos dying. Jesus God Almighty, where have you been the past decades? WHat do you want to do? Illegalize being black or Latino?

Gun control works in the rest of the civilized world. Get over it.

Also rifle is a technical definition. Dayton, OH, for example was a pistol and not a rifle. Normally you don't think about 100-round pistols but technically that's what it was so it would fall into either the handgun or other/not stated category.

Not to the same level that they talk about mass shootings and other crimes. You won't see Jesse and Al marching through Chicago's South Side to call for justice and law and order, even though more blacks are affected by these shootings than by any white shooter.

You didn't see Obama and others trying to do anything worthwhile about the situation, yet they opined when thugs like Trayvon and Michael Brown were justifiably killed for their violent behavior.

THAT is the point.

Also, Switzerland and Finland have higher gun ownership rates than the USA does (we have more guns per person, but that's because people tend to own multiple guns here), but yet don't have a problem.

Moreover, as its become easier to own firearms in this country over the last several decades, violent crime has continued to decline drastically. Get with it and get over it, yourself.

Disarming those that live like that is one thing, changing the mentality is another.
Changing that culture may not be possible. Children grow up thinking that using guns and drugs is normal. Their "role models" do. Gun homicides and violent crime have decreased every where else in the US.

I'm willing to bet they would consider that a rifle, since it was not a legal pistol. He slapped a pistol upper on a standard lower, hence creating an SBR or pistol , breaking laws in doing so.

The UAE is one of the most heavily regulated places on earth. Only Emirati nationals can have firearms, and they make up less than 12% of the total population. The rest are expats who are banned from having any kind of firearm and subject to severe jail sentences if found in possession.

From the source: https://www.thenational.ae/uae/courts/abu-dhabi-shooting-rare-gun-incident-puts-spotlight-on-strict-licensing-laws-1.809198

Gun licences are issued only to Emirati nationals, who are then permitted to carry a limited amount of ammunition.
The law forbids gun owners from producing a firearm in a public place, even if it is licensed.
Emirati gun licences must be renewed every three years.
The law also prohibits the issuing of firearms licences to any person previously convicted of committing a crime involving state security, terrorism, drugs, consuming alcohol, committing an offence against another person or a financial crime.
Furthermore, a licence holder has to be at least 25 years old, must not be suffering from any psychological illnesses, and must be certified fit by a medical authority.

Thank you.

Too bad we can't single out a specific type of hammer, the way OP and Breitbart are cherrypicking to make a non-existent argument. Are metal shaft hammers more dangerous than wood shaft hammers? Who can tell? That's pretty much the level of the so-called argument here.
