Trump is all about his crowds.

Rallies were never a thing before Trump. He holds his rallies for two reasons:

1) he likes using them as a vent session so he can attack everyone he doesn't like. And unlike a formal press conference where he would be forced to answer questions about what he says, instead it's just a crowd of rowdy supporters that worship him and cheer every lie out of his mouth .

2) It makes him feel good. It makes snowflake Donny feel good. Standing in front of a crowd that will praise him no matter what fills his insatiable ego meter for a few days. Because as most sensible Americans are aware, it's all about Donny, all the time.

Yeah, they were. Few ever achieved them. Candidates tried to fill modest sized venues or spoke to the media in media scripted events.

You can dislike Trump as much as you like, but his fan base does turn out in person when it would be so much more convenient to just sit in front of the computer/TV and watching a stream.

And, I should add, that his fan base is generally derided as lazy, fat, and unwilling to engage in things. There ought to be some careful consideration by the Democrats why their candidates except Bernie Sanders can't achieve the same.

How silly. Obama held huge rallies before his first term. Destroys that argument.

Maybe you are just making stuff up because you can't handled that unlike Obama, Trump's rallies are even larger for his 2nd term.

When you advertise for extras to show up for a couple of hours work, they come out of the wood work. Then of course you bus in a bunch of actors.

Trump has done it before and the campaign staff are doing it again.
