Well, that is what makes horse races.

As it is, mine is sort of like that. Carry handle but no scope. Do I have it because it was used at Sandy Hook? No, of course not.

I have it because it is a fine piece of engineering, because it works for me. To ban it just because someone use something like it wrongly makes about as much sense as banning Boeing 767s because a group of people used it to kill thousands.

It is a fine piece of machinery in that it is wonderful for marksmanship but also, until it is needed, it is just another tool bag in the truck but if it is needed, it can be a rifle in under a minute. It is a wonderful piece of engineering for all the denials of weapons over the decades, it's the best thing we have left to make anyone who wants a government to go tyrant to think twice.

It is the best thing we've got to make oppression a costly alternative. By all means these devices should be in public hands.

You don't really expect a coherent reply to this? Remember that the gun whacks believe that all guns, no matter how lethal, no matter the rate of fire they can produce - should not only be legal but should be propagated to as many people as possible.

They will never come out and admit it but what it comes down to is that they place the value of their selfish desire to own these weapons over the value of human life. Of course they cloak this sick viewpoint in the trappings of the Constitution; they will protect us from government tyranny, need them for protection, need them for deer hunting, blah, blah, blah. We've heard it all a million times.

The way they look at it is that the odds of anything bad happening to them or theirs from someone using the weapons they worship is highly unlikely. It will surely happen to someone else.

We have given coherent and logical responses based on fact a thousand times, not our fault if you continue to ignore them

Do honestly believe that it makes much of a difference what kind of gun it is if a maniac goes into school and attacks young kids in a classroom with no way to escape and unarmed teachers? The outcome will be the same.

Explain how the rate of fire of this rifle is faster than any other common hunting rifle or how it is more lethal than any other common hunting rifle. Or would you like to outlaw all common hunting rifles like that one?
All common semi-auto hunting rifles fire one shot per trigger pull, period.

It doesn't completely ban your right to a firearm.
That should be a clue to those who want to ban or restrict ownership of certain kind of weapons, laws, bans, restrictions don't affect criminals in any way. Go to Chicago, which has very strict "gun control" laws and see if they stopped drug dealers and gang members from getting weapons.

We have tough laws against murder yet some people still commit murder, what does that tell you about criminals complying with laws? If they knowingly ignore those laws they're definitely not going comply with any laws that pertain to guns or anything else.

All it takes is one bullet. I can do the same damage as a AR with a Sharps single shot rifle. Only difference is I know where the bullets I shoot are going.

It protects us and allows us to keep and bear arms!
Including evil people who plot to kill off a bunch of people by collecting large amounts of ammo and guns? You will quite passionately defend their 2nd Amendment rights to do that?

Q. What's an assault weapon?
Government: Whatever we say it is.

Q. What if I buy a weapon not currently classified as an assault weapon and you change your mind on the definition?
Government: You turn it in or else you're a criminal.

Ya know folks, this is why some of us moved out of our parent's homes.

Just saying.
