Any weapon like a hammer or a knife is an assault weapon if used to assault people.

I'm an anarchist but Fox News is indeed a socialist/Marxist propaganda machine.

And to recap, my property rights are absolute.

Approximately half of all the 300 million guns currently owned by American citizens are semi automatic.

The technology has been massed produced for over 100 years now.

Magazines aren't regulated at all..... probably hundreds of millions of them in circulation also. And really aren't that hard to modify to extend capacity.

How are you going to put that horse back in the barn without door to door searches and confiscations?

Do you know how one obtains a machine gun? Do you know how much a tax is? Do you know all the steps that are required? Do you know how expensive it is to get a machine gun? Yes it is legal to own a machine gun. However when you add up the cost very few people other than the rich can own one.

That's the entire point of our constitutional republic.

To protect the rights of the individual over the demands of the majority.

It had historically been the most moderate and balanced news outlet. Lefties always thought it was so far right because it was the only major network not spewing the approved coordinated propoganda as the other major networks did.

Since their change in ownership/management it's been steadily drifting leftward and will continue to do so. Anyone objective can realize it.

Not going to tell you that - as if everyone on the right watches "Faux News" as you lefties call it.

What I am going to say is, in regards to your title: So?

The 2nd Amendment is an inalienable right. It was NOT given to us by government.

United States v Cruikshank

https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/92/542

Quote:
“The right there specified is that of ‘bearing arms for a lawful purpose.’ This is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence. The Second Amendment declares that it shall not be infringed: but this, as has been seen, means no more than that it shall not be infringed by Congress. This is one of the amendments that has no other effect than to restrict the powers of the National [Federal] Government…”
Laymen's terms: The 2nd Amendment did not create a right. That right was, again, NOT given to us by Government. It's our right simply because we exist. It is an inalienable right, and it "shall not be infringed". If it doesn't create a right, it's not a right that the government can take away.

https://www.fjc.gov/history/timeline/us-v-cruikshank

Quote:
..When the case reached the Supreme Court, the Court sided with the defendants, holding that the rights they were alleged to have violated were not enforceable in this case. The First and Second Amendment rights to assembly and the bearing of arms were, according to the Court’s ruling, intended only to restrict the actions of the federal government and did not apply to the states or private citizens, and the Fourteenth Amendment rights to due process and equal protection applied only to state action and again, not to the actions of individuals...
