And, let's be clear. The PRC is engaging in these re-education camps due to years of dealing with terrorist attacks in certain regions of the country by radical Islamists who were specifically targeting Han Chinese people. They are not just merely choosing to engage in "re-education" for the hell of it.

Still, I can admit that its a problem and not the approach that I would take. But, again, every country and society has its problems.
The Han Chinese have killed far more Chinese, than ethnic minorities have - how many did that Mao kill?

The Party has murdered millions, and they aren't done yet.

No one will disagree that atrocities were committed when the Communists were coming to power; of course, nationalist committed atrocities against Communists, too.

Whites have killed and/or slaved millions of blacks here in the United States over centuries, but that doesn't give blacks today any right to commit violence against whites.

We are dealing with the here and now. Again, these re-education camps aren't just popping up for the hell of it.

Nope, the protesters were really and truly grassroots and local.

Chan's position on disparaging democracy and openness in Hong Kong is not new, and he has lost a lot of popularity with his fellow HKers because of that.

Sure, Beijing can do with it what it wants. But if they want to keep it prosperous, they should be careful - your chest-beating bravado notwithstanding.
Who cares, hk has outlived its usefulness to Chinaís economy. The obnoxious arrogance of typical Hong Kongnese against mainlanders make them very unpopular to most Chinese. If the tanks roll into hk from Shenzhen, most in china would applaud. In the end, the rioters are the ones who destroyed Hong kongs prosperity by forcing China to intervene. China cannot allow lawlessness to continue. No country can, so itís these idiotic rioters own fault. They killed Hong Kong. Cest la vie. Too bad for Hong Kong.

Yeah, ok. So the economic progress of the past thirty years is an insidious plan designed by the Chinese commies to kill lots more Chinese? Lol.

They are not just some random Muslims either. China has over 20 million Muslims.

They popping up to maintain the Parties' grip on power, so they are inherently political in nature.

I suspect many are random - reports vary, but whatever the exact number is, they can't have all been directly involved in killings or plots.

They are popping up as a means (albeit not a perfect means) of ensuring safety for Chinese citizens by stopping attacks by radical Islamists.

Why aren't they in prison then? ......unless that means that those being re-educated, haven't actually committed a crime.
