Trump (R) raised it back up to $833 billion.

This is not media spin. These are the facts.

The economy was cooking the during the Clinton administration.

Things took a turn for the worse during the Bush administration.

Got back on track during Obama's administration. Thins have stayed on basically the same trajectory until Trump started f'ing around with tariffs and that payday loan tax scam, which had nothing to do with Democrats.

The last Republican President to leave the nation in better economic shape than he found it was Eisenhower.

Did you take 6th grade civics and learn that Congress passes the budget and the President either signs or doesn't?

Sorry trumpsters, the credit for the economy in the first two years of any president is the direct result of the effort of the previous president and administration. The economics of the first two years of Trump's occupation goes to Obama. That's right. The second two years belong to the Trump. How's he looking now? Failed tariff policies plunging a large number of farmers into bankruptcy with some resorting to suicide. Over 7,000 business went belly up in the last year. More good jobs gone, but give Trump credit, he did create more service jobs that pay lower wages and most with little or no benefits. Trump gave corporations and his rich buddies over a trillion dollars and you, the working average American worker, will pay for it. Under trump no a dime spent on infrastructure. How do you like those potholes? Sooner or later we will have a major bridge collapse with numerous casualties. Trump has blown more money on his gold outings that any president before him, but you don't mind paying, do you? Trump charges full price to our government when he golfs at one of his golf courses. Doesn't matter, Trump and his daughter have used their position to expand and reap greater profits on their private businesses.

We are now in Trump economic policies and on recession's doorstep. We can only hope that electing Trump does not put us into a depression.

One thing is certain, the current crop of Democrats would run the economy over the cliff and need to be bailed out by a Republican Congress again.

Nice polemical rant, with no substance behind it.

You got it precisely backwards. But we all knew that.

New York Times is a failure. I'm surprised there are still some who think their opinion is worth anything.

BTW Trickle Down ended when Bill Clinton signed NAFTA into law and sold out the American Worker. Biden was right there with him.

Rest of this topic is the usual "Orange Man Bad" nonsense. They are the fodder for the NYT.

Holy crap! Trump managed to ram the tax cut through a Democratic Congress? I take back every mean thing I ever said about him... the man is a wizard.

It has not been discredited.

The theory existed 4 centuries ago.

And, Trump has not done anything that Obama didn't do.

Well, this is just malarky.

Trump has done all sorts of things that Obama didn't do.

The payday loan tax giveaway to corporations and launching a tariff war with China come immediately to mind.

Obama did neither of these.

And yes, trickle down economics didn't work under Reagan, didn't work under Bush, and isn't working under Trump's administration.
