I was interested enough to want to hear more from Yang. I'm glad he finally got more air time because now I know many of his ideas are nutty.

That lets us pretend "our starting point is above zero".... as long as you ignore the fact that the people we stole it from (taxpayers) will now start with a negative amount.
Businesses have been doing that for like forever ... we use to boycott, but we don't any more, because the boycott has been rendered ineffective since the day of business networking, which makes it harder for a person to target their grievances onto one specific company, by way of withhold consumption of one particular product.

VAT is a consumer tax, not a payroll tax, which is the revenue to be used to fund the UBI. So please tell me what you see, as people are saying this is not a copacetic way of funding; far worse than the Fed taking the earnings out of our wages. I don't see it.

I like Andrew Yang too. I don't agree with everything that he says but he makes reasoned arguments and isn't driven by emotion and ideology. I wish all politicians, from both the Left and Right were more like him.

The source of funding for UBI has to be a PROPERTY tax on assets beyond subsistence property.
