Seattle has gone to hell in a hand cart under the current mayor/city council. It's still probably safer than a Detroit or a Baltimore, but every other week we seem to get a news story like this.
A woman was attacked in Ballard (heavily 'gentrified' neighborhood near the water). She fortunately was able to fend off the stabs by using her purse as a shield. She cried for help, and several nearby males came to the rescue.
The perp admitted to being high on meth. His address is listed as a homeless shelter. He had been released 4 days earlier, after getting a suspended sentence for a prior assault. It's just by the grace of God that this woman wasn't killed.
Seattle just had a primary election for 7 of 9 city council members. A bunch of first timers were running on a 'clean up Seattle' theme, but as far as I can tell they didn't do well. It looks like Seattle will be getting the same old same old far left loons this November, who have run the city into the ground. I rarely even set foot in the city any more.
I live in a town of 15,000 in Florida that is heavily republican. We have homeless. So before anyone says its a "democrat" driven issue look around. Homeless are all over.
A person gets attacked and we should focus on that instead of the all the gun deaths in other states because...I don't know. As long as it keeps people from moving to Seattle, we're full.

As long as there are jobs in Seattle, people will keep moving there. As long as there are people who are okay with living cheek to jowl, there will be those who move to Seattle. The only full proof "solution" to keep people out of Seattle is to make it illegal to move there. And that would violate the Constitution.
