Yeah, Trump only hires "the best".
What a moron.
Wonder how long the farmers will continue to support Trump as things fall apart for them at an increasing pace while Trumps' Ag Secretary making jokes about their hardships.

"Trump's Secretary of Agriculture Tells Joke About Whining Farmers to Room Full of Farmers, Gets Boo'd

President Donald Trump's Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue cracked a joke that American farmers "whine" about Trump's trade war with China and got laughs as he intended but also boo's from audience members that seemingly found it insensitive.
"I had a farmer tell me this in Pennsylvania," Perdue said at a farm show in Minnesota last Wednesday, according to Agri-Pulse. "He said, 'What do you call two farmers in a basement?' I said 'I don't know, what do you call them?'"

Perdue said the farmer said: "A whine cellar."
There was laughter but boo's came as some members of the crowd did not find Perdue's joke funny, just two days after China declared it would no longer buy any American agricultural products to hit back at Trump for imposing an additional 10 percent tariff on Chinese goods..."

It'll be a great day in the US and around the world and a joke on Trump when his crucial Midwest farmer coalition doesn't show up to the polls

Liberals are usually against big agricultural, corporate farms, Monsanto, pesticides and the like. Plus farmers are usually deplorables.

Shouldn't not spraying pesticides and fertilizers on millions of acres of land, not to mention the thousands of gallons of diesel used in the process, just to sell some lousy soybeans to China be a good thing for the environment?

But...but...but... the Great Pumpkin said wining trade wars was soooooooooo easy.

This single statement from your link says it all: "....Now, we stand to lose all of what was a $9.1 billion market in 2018, which was down sharply from the $19.5 billion farmers exported to China in 2017 ...".
That's a HUGE hit against some of the GOP's most loyal voters.
Well, maybe not so loyal when the dust from this debacle settles.

It's not how "liberals" feel about it that's the issue. It's how the FARMERS feel about it - and how they feel about TRUMP. So far, they are still hanging with him, but if the trade war doesn't end soon - and it's looking like it probably won't - those farmers will probably not be so loyal to Trump anymore. His policies are destroying their livelihood.

Hard to say whether they will remain loyal to Trump.

Whoever the Democrats run will be attacked relentlessly with all sorts of bogus BS. We've seen it before and we'll see it again.

Trump will continue to dole out subsidies/bribes while maintaining farmers are taking one for the team.

Trump lost the trade war when he caved on Huawei. So this isn't about protecting U.S. intellectual property.

China is now contracting with Russian farmers for soybeans.

Which is likely what this was all about from the get go.

Farmers are funny. Yes they are important but...

"Conservatives" who complain about welfare on corporate welfare.
