Reading these stories and the violent crime issues in SF, I can't imagine anyone living there not having a concealed handgun permit and packing every single day. I'm also surprised how rarely it comes out that someone lawfully defended themselves in comparison to the shear number of criminal acts committed.

Exactly.

But look, even hipster friends of mine in San Fran admitted to me they had a homeless and crime problem 10 years ago. It's only gotten worse. How bad can it get before there is a backlash?

The number of criminal acts committed in San Fransicko are primarily out on the streets on public property. I will only use my firearm for defense when criminal acts are being committed within my home. I'm sure that's the way it is for at least 90% of the law abiding citizens who legally own firearms. Basically law abiding citizens can't just walk around with a loaded handgun out on the streets and expect using it for defense "out on the streets" will not get them thrown in jail. We don't have stand your ground here in the San Fransiko bay area.

Either way, Id rather him be arrested and have to spend at least a little time in prison, than to be interviewed do you know what you did was wrong???

democrats own the hate and fear mongering franchise. they gin up hate and people start to believe and act out. It is on the democrats and the media who provide detailed lessons learned for the next potential perp.

Gang members average age is 15, shootout among gang members gets counted as, 'children killed by firearms'. Dems know creative statistics!

Trump is not the source of hate and violence, the socialist democrats own all the hate and fear mongering and the violence that ensues. They project their hate onto trump as if he were a giant movie screen, and then recoil in horror at the hate they created.

It's almost impossible to get a permit for concealed or open carry in Ca. Whatever the number is of car break ins multiply that by 10. Reporting it to police does absolutely nothing at the most they'll tell you to come to the station and fill out a report. People have started putting signs in their cars pleading "don't break my window you've already stolen everything nothing's left". Even if by some miracle the thief is caught the most cops can do is write a citation due to prop 47. Ca has gone back to the Wild West where there is no law citizens are on their own... just don't carry a weapon and hurt anybody

It strikes me that if a new crew can so easily run a sting on these skels, the local PD could do the same. But given the pro-criminal nature of the justice system in California, it would just be catch an release.
