One more time....FHLMC/ FNMA lost market share as the housing bubble inflated because whole loans increasingly did not qualify for their purchase.
And here's why:
Quote:
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo today announced a policy to require the nation's two largest housing finance companies to buy $2.4 trillion in mortgages over the next 10 years to provide affordable housing for about 28.1 million low- and moderate-income families.
https://archives.hud.gov/news/1999/pr99-131.html

What subsequently happened?... Countrywide and other mortgage originators were given "special permission" from Fannie to originate loans to those with no/risky credit.

http://fcic-static.law.stanford.edu/...%20Markets.pdf

The consequence? The $2 trillion Fannie and Freddie Federal Reserve QE bailout that almost no one knows about. The amount of F&F MBS on the H.4.1 in 2008? Zero. The current outstanding principal balance on those GSE MBS listed on the Federal Reserve's H.4.1 is $1.52 trillion.

Those MBS will just roll off the Federal Reserve's H.4.1 as they mature, paid or not. We'll never know because the Federal Reserve doesn't have to recognize or state losses. They just reduce/erase the line item on their H.4.1. Meanwhile, $2 trillion worth of QE created out of thin air was artificially pumped into the US economy.

Oh, and just for grins... Tens of thousands of mortgage borrowers, if not more, will get their homes for free as this all continues to play out and their mortgage debt just rolls off the Federal Reserve's H.4.1, unpaid...

https://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/30/b...k-expires.html

Spare me your BS. What I posted above is what actually happened. The Federal Reserve devalued the $US by $2 trillion, and they cannot rein it back in because SO many of those loans are defaulting or have already defaulted.

Even Barney Frank admitted it on a 2013 C-SPAN broadcast (naturally, after he had already retired from Congress).

Itís as non- partisan as it gets.
I agree, I don't see that in the near future. They love the power they have and wants to hold on to it as long as they can.

Biggest shock to the country is that Trump got nominated and then got elected.
Was an outsider, you can't run on that forever. He is knee deep into swamp now.

You don't become a member of the club because you got elected as President.
Goes a lot deeper than that.
He will always be an outsider.

Trump has never been an outsider. He's always had and exploited political connections going back to his early days in New York.

I have to give you credit. You know that we are getting screwed and you have discovered who is holding the screw driver. Add the Republicans to these progressives and you will have the entire answer.
