Someone should define a new sort of Turing test. Can a robot's intimacy become indistinguishable from the average human female?

It may well be easier to pass than the current one.
Given Alan Turing's “leanings”, it’s probably best that he didn’t go that route for his famous thought experiment. Robby the Robot just wouldn’t be the same...

Now you tell me... is masturbation a sexually motivated phenomena/behavior or is it something folks do as they are cooking eggplant for dinner?
If you want to convince yourself that masturbation is having is sex, and having a sexual experience, or sexual encounter, then go for it. I think you're deceiving yourself, but whatever.

Forget the sex part, how fast can we have one made to replace that cackling Joy Behar on the view.

I don't have to convince myself. I have a Merriam-Webster dictionary that does the convincing for me.

I'd have to say it's a form of safe sex.

@ChrisC, if that is your view, then by all means, carry on with your bad self.

That's what I was trying to say though, that if one believes that the satisfaction that can be had with masturbation, is the only kind of satisfaction that there is motivating partnered intercourse, then they would appear to be not-perceptive, or not-interested, in a range of other factors and forms of satisfaction that (in my own experience, and in many people's) are part of sex, and motivate the desire to have it with other people.

If you are truly satisfied and feel that nothing is lacking, why...you're probably pretty lucky in that. Because the business of finding the right partner and them being also into you, and the whole thing...it can sure be a hassle. Never mind such hazards as unintended pregnancy, STIs, and heartbreak. I think that many who have struggled in dating and the search for a partner, have wished they could simply do without it, comfortably and happily.

I'm not concerned. I don't think that enough people share that view, that the human species is in any danger of dying off. And we could probably do with a lot less humans on the planet anyways.

So a "sexual thought" and sexual fantasy is having sex. Got it.

It is if you have a great imagination and the ability to mentally visualize well. And it is 100% safe sex at that, with no strings attached.
