The robots will become more and more like people, until they realize that they ARE people, only superior in intellect and ability...and deprived of basic rights. Cue the robot uprising. I saw an episode of this online show thing produced by VICE where the woman was investigating realistic sex dolls. They did not have AI, I don't think, these ones were just hyper-realistic and inanimate...and extremely expensive. The company reps said that they do get orders for some very specific things including fantasy and sci fi characters. They interviewed a woman who owned a male doll. She was actually a pornstar. And the woman who was doing the reporting for VICE also spent some alone time with one, so she could speak to the experience.
Thing is, I am not sure that the entire purpose of these is to replace real people for those who are unable or unwilling to engage in relationships or whatever like that. I think there's also a market with just...wealthy people with strange kinks.
But I gotta say, over the years here at CD, especially in a certain subforum I've focused on quite a bit, I have encountered some people that I think would be far better off not subjecting other living breathing humans with thoughts and feelings, to their own toxicity. One so bad I actually wound up recommending it to him, and I was pretty serious, and not trying to be insulting at all. I just could not imagine any woman being happy with the life he wanted to share with someone, as he described it, let alone him finding what he was looking for in a woman without having her custom made.

So those are all right wing fundamentalists that believe masturbation is a sin although it was never discussed in scripture? Sounds more like cults and misinterpretations. Seems a pretty big stretch from those on the right and fundies think masturbation is a sin. As far as paying for "the sin" of masturbation the whole premise of Christianity is that Jesus paid for our sins.
You took adherents of related faiths position and then grafted their position onto Fundamentalist who reject those claims without a clear unambiguous scriptural basis. In other words that is them, the Catholics, Latter Day Saints, Adventist, Muslims, Orthodox Jews, etc but it is not us. Even if the original post used a small f fundamental, to link the groups together

A robot is to replace "intimacy" of a woman. Do people REALLY think that sticking their junk in someone is what INTIMACY is? Less lonely? Loneliness is the absence of sticking your junk in something?

I agree, it's not realy the same thing in at all in terms of love and emotions linked to sex, and the whole thing is very creepy indeed.
