Voluntarily exchanging goods and services isn't a crime.

And cops have no authority over you, me, or anyone else.

Who buys "loosies" anyway? Schoolkids? Would you want that guy in your neighborhood selling cigarettes to schoolkids? Winos? Druggies? I won't call Garner's death a murder but I believe this situation was mishandled. There were more cops on the way so maybe the overwhelming numbers would have convinced Garner to take the collar without a fuss. But we'll never know. In any event, there are legitimate reasons to keep guys like Garner from plying their trade in decent neighborhoods where people work and live and raise their families.
