1,000 Ca. foster homes match sex offenders addresses
This doesn't surprise me at all but what did surprise me is this "The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors balked at subpoenas for information and hired outside lawyers to fight the inquiry"
What excuse would they have not to turn over information? WOW
I've known more than one family that ran foster care just to make money off the kids, the kids would run away and they wouldn't report it so they could continue to collect the money, sad deal.
Very disgusting, doc but how much did these people pay those state employees to let them get those kids. You always have to follow the money in deals like this.
apparently people can not read the article closely:
For the record, 3:04 p.m. Oct. 27: An earlier version of this article incorrectly... The true number is 31, according to the California Department of Social Services.
RTMFA!!
This part of the article makes me wonder even more about how much money changes hands between the convicts and those running the show.

One, ten, thousand, or 31 the actual correct number, not 1,000. Thirty one still much too high a number, Something needs to be done. The thirty one the correct number which should have been stated, is still too high.
Social services needs to do a better job for placement of Foster Families.
Last year, Kentucky performed a similar audit, but didn't find quite as many overlapping instances, according to The ChildLaw blog. In that case the audit only found 12 instances of sex offenders living with or caring for foster children.
Perhaps all states should perform this audit...?
