Just tune out any "indoctrination" if it bothers you so much. Or go to a secular or conservative college.

An educated society is a better society.

Sure, like they'll just let you opt out of the groupthink. Even professors at the indoctrination centers have to toe the line or risk losing their jobs.

That's why it's such a shame so many of our institutions of "higher learning" are so dedicated to churning out armies of ignorant fools.

It took 2-3 years of being out in the real world and thinking for myself to open my eyes.

The degrees enable me to live a comfortable, high income life. So there is absolutely value in higher education. But anyone who argues that most education facilities aren’t operated by liberals who seek to pollute the minds of their young followers is either delusional or dishonest.
One of the most frustrating parts to me is the "I'm educated now" attitude. I'm not sure why I never fell into that trap, but I had a lot of friends who did...they were pretty reasonable in high school, and after a year or two in college they started becoming pretentious and thinking they had it all figured out. I guess that's common, but I was like...seriously? I thought you were smarter/wiser than that.

Definitely agree with this post though. I view it as taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. You learn some very useful and legitimate things, but you also learn a lot of things that you need to unlearn after you graduate.

I had a professor who I'm pretty sure was a libertarian, or leaned libertarian, and he ended up leaving a year or two after I graduated and got a private sector job. I'm honestly not sure if he quit or if he was asked to leave, but I know he clashed with some people there.

The kind of higher education being preached at these standard colleges and universities, I agree. It is a disgrace, particularly in the social sciences. I don't know if I'd want any children I have attending my alma mater.

59% of Republicans now think higher ed is bad for America
Then this will forever put them in a disadvantage to people who value Education and seek out a degree. Knowledge and understanding is a good thing....not a bad thing. When I signed on to the Republican party back in the seventies, it was not this way. It's sad, it shows how far they
have fallen.
What would our world be without education? Without Doctors and Scientists, Engineers and
teachers/Professors?

How has the US fared in innovation since secular philosophy started filtering down to the mainstream in the late 20th century?

Not very well, it seems. Even if you adjust for the obvious confounders.

I dont believe that it's the higher education that bothers republicans. I believe it's the perceived indoctrination that takes place in far too many universities.

To be honest the media is constantly bombarding the public with stories of Universities providing safe spaces, hugging bears, professors that lean to the extreme left etc. Why would any conservative be comfortable sending their child to an institution that is basically going to undo the efforts that they put into raising their child?
Remember its all about perception. How would a liberal feel if the university that their child attended was hard right, required students to take courses in shooting, gun smithing and required they take courses that singled out and demonized minorities?

I think that suddenly those liberals would have an issue with that university.

I think that college curriculum has drifted far from education and has docked at political indoctrination

The descriptions are no different from how the political atmosphere on leading campuses was described in the 1940s. Universities are socialist institutions and many of the instructors have long held similar political preferences. This is counterbalanced by the capitalist exposure most graduates later receive. Society has survived, students graduate, life goes on.
