Israel has been the single greatest beneficiary of foreign/ military aid since its inception. Trump committed to $38 billion over 10 years, which is more than the Obama Admin which is more than the Bush Admin, etc.

Israel imposes high taxes on its people. Israel has world class highly subsidized university education and Universal Healthcare including state funded abortion. It is viewed as one of the most efficient healthcare systems in the world- easier with a population of 8 million vs 325 million, mostly overweight/ obese people in the US.

How much higher would Israeli taxes be to maintain the same level of defense and social benefits if the US ceased to contribute?

I welcome all Israelites to relocate to the US. Last one out throw a match. Let the ME sort out their own problems.

I saw President Trump's tweet. He did not 're-tweet' Mr. Root's statement, but wrote it out in full using parentheses.

Obviously, Mr. Trump approved of the sentiments expressed by Mr Root, including being beloved by Israeli's like the "King of Israel", as well as being loved as the 'second coming of God'.

No. American Jews are not happy with this quote, or with Mr. Trump's statement about their loyalty.

You do realize the statement was "LIKE the second coming of God", NOT that Trump IS the second coming! LOL

Evidently neither you nor the OP understand the meaning of quotation marks.
What idiot would tweet that? What was the purpose of trump tweeting that, do you think?

Yes, yes, that makes it so much better and less offensive.

It is true the OP took some license with Trump's retweeting. Trump most definitely wasn't the one who originated the thought.... -- but the mere act of retweeting someone calling him the second coming or the King of Israel --- is offensive.

It just is.

I would think to devout Jews Trump being called the King of Israel would be offensive.

It is a ridiculous quote to say -- let alone to retweet as President of the USA.

Don't leave out that in Israel, guns are tightly controlled and carefully tracked by the state.

And why are we still giving foreign aid to Israel?

They don't need our money.

Another response tweet worthy of mention:

Quote:
The only group of Americans trump hasn’t alienated are the ones too stupid to know they are being insulted and ridiculed as well.

1- Thread title is totally disingenuous.

2- Whoever made the statement is obviously not a Christian.

3- Trump isn't a Christian. So understanding who he is, it's not surprising he made reference to the statement as he did.
