Where were the Democrats and the MEDIA when Obama had the huge deficits then ran up the debt larger than any other previous President COMBINED? Crickets. Those Trillions in the "stimulus" went to Unions, and Cronies. NOT shovel ready jobs.

Oh, I thought Obama was responsible for all things economic during his Presidency.

My bad, I look at CD data forum and believe what the resident talk radio junkies tell me. Sorry.

Which is why we need a balanced budget amendment, spending limits, etc.

The government, regardless of which party controls it, can't be trusted to be responsible with our money and the money of future generations.

We need hard limits placed on government spending that can only be temporarily set aside for actual crisis.

Are you claiming the budget isn't put together by the House?

OK, so send a balanced budget to Trump.

Let's see if he signs it.

Only the House can do that. Private individuals can ask a House member to introduce it, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

And yet Repubs controlled the House from 2010 until 2018. So I guess our high deficit and out of control spending was the fault of Repubs.

Just to be clear, none of the Democrats currently chirping about debt and deficits want to actually cut any spending (apart from the military).

What they want is for Trump to oppose spending so they can yap about what a heartless bastard he is.

For those of us old enough to remember, Reagan was hammered for refusing to go along with Democrat's massive spending increases.

Then, after Democrats managed to ram through increased spending over Reagan's veto, they spent the next thirty-five years talking about Reagan deficits and the failure of trickle-down economics.

I wish we actually had a party of fiscal conservatives. When Republicans get in power their spending is worse than Democrats.

If this is the best economy we’ve ever had, per Trump, this country is doomed. Are we supposed to pay down the debt when we’re in a recession?
Apparently you haven't been paying attention to what the Democrats are proposing:

Medicare for all
Open borders
healthcare for illegals
reparations

Are you serious?
