Shocking I tell you. I wonder how many times the superman of right wing dotards, Hannity, has used the terms "debt" or "deficit" since Le Grande Orange' was elected?
I guess since so many of them get their marching orders from him, you also conveniently stopped talking about this crisis. Just a coincidence?
I’m noticing a pattern, when Obama was in office republicans obsessed about deficits and democrats were silent. Now it’s the opposite with Trump.
Rand Paul is about the only one that seems serious about cutting spending, we need more Pauls to do anything.
If a far left democrat takes office and somehow enacts universal healthcare and “free” education among other crazy policies, you can forget about the deficit.

The part of the pattern you are missing:
Democrats don't care about the deficits. They just take exception to the fact that republicans only care about the deficit when the dems are in office.
Sort of like Democrats don't care about "traditional" morals and values. They just take exception to the fact that republicans don't either.................. unless of course it's a democrat that's not displaying them.
We're in a 4 year Presidential election cycle...anyone making the hard choice to actually do something about the debt or deficit will not survive to see a second term. So in reality, the short sighted-ness and ignorance of voters is to blame.
The truth is times of economic prosperity are the only times a politician can get away with fixing these issues. The only person who seized on that opportunity in any way was Clinton with a Repub house, and he had the .com bubble to ride in all fairness. Bush II could have done something when things were going well under his housing bubble ride, but chose not to.
Essentially we need an adult to sit us collectively down and explain that we either need to seriously cut spending or have a huge tax increase. But would we ever be mature enough to vote for that?
You know-if Dems are actually concerned, it would be really nice if they would come up with some suggestions on where to cut from our horribly overblown federal spending budget. What programs to we slash and eliminate? Just curious-we've had some debates from the 2020 Dem primary candidates-do you recall which ones proposed spending cuts-and where? Do we cut aid to foreign nations? Stop providing handouts to illegals? Stop funding "refugees"? Close the detention centers and dump the residents across the border in Mexico? Perhaps slash Medicaid spending? Shut down the Dept. of Education? Eliminate the EPA? Just would like to hear some of the ideas of the anti-Trumpers. We have record revenue-but in spite of that our spending has grown even faster. Where do we slash?
