Well, it's enough to stand against it. That's all you have in this world.

These conversations are always interesting because I'm reminded of the Whiskey Rebellion whenever the taxation = theft paradigm is discussed.

We are taught in school (our glorious public indoctrination centers ) about how this country was founded on liberty and freedom with, at the very least, a strong resistance to "excessive and unfair taxation".

March 1789 the U.S. government sets up shop. Hero George Washington begins his presidency.

September 1791 - a tax collector is tarred and feathered by farmers in western PA in what would become the Whiskey Rebellion. The impetus being the feds deciding to tax domestic spirits to bail out the war debt (a common theme over the next 200 or so years - see the documentary "All Wars Are Banker's Wars").

By 1794 GW sends in a massive federal army to squash the rebellion. The optics end the "uprising" without a shot being fired as the farmers know they can't compete with the government's force.

It took a little over two years before the regular folks realized that you can't accept the paradigm of statism and expect, even from the omnipotent "Founding Fathers" , to have a say in how you raise, buy, and sell the fruits of your labor.

Team Blue likes to pound GW on the slavery issue. Team Red needs to pound GW on the Whiskey Rebellion.

Both teams can go pound salt for all I care.

I think unequal percent of taxes is unfair. I would love to go to a fair use tax of something like 10 percent on all goods and services, and a flat tax of 15 percent on income. No deductions, no property tax. No death tax. No tax on ss.

That would be far superior to what we have now.

You consent to taxation by living within a jurisdiction. The tax amount and uses can be unreasonable though and be no better than theft.

But it's still armed robbery and slavery.

There are no places where a State won't violate your natural rights.

We've been over this. Here, ask this guy about it...

In any event, when a man is upholding the non-aggression principle and minding his own business and someone comes along demanding tribute it is not incumbent on the victim (that would be the man minding his own business) to change his behavior. It is incumbent on the perp demanding tribute to change his behavior.

So far it seems like 99% of MAGAs and conservatives are, to paraphrase the late Dennis Green, “Who we thought they were!”

A bunch of commies.

Noticbly absent are the resident C-D Trump cultists.
