Bush fans did the same thing in 2008, until Lehman Brothers, after which they could no longer deny reality regarding the Bush economy.

Yawn. The economy always seems fine and stable just before a recession.

I thought Obama was responsible for how well things were going today? Anyway, If we go into a recession, any one of the Socialist on the Left will only make it worse. Unfortunately Democrats can no longer support a sane centrist candidate like Bill Clinton. Only an extreme Leftist will do.

How is that not an opinion piece? Jewels like

"This economy can best be summed up by a classic childhood fairy tale: “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” The growth is exactly the way Goldilocks prefers her porridge: not too hot, not too cold, but “just right.”"

Thats some solid analysis right there.

Why would the SEC prosecute 15-year-old Jonathan G. Lebed for sending out emails and making forum posts hyping stocks if that didn't affect prices?

The SEC constantly charges individuals for "talking up" stocks.

If you think the media can't affect the market, you're crazy.

LOL Trump is hoping that his followers don't pay attention to economics and any fine print. He's hoping they stay passive with their middle finger up to the country. Let's not get things twisted..how many of you allow your kids to watch his behavior?

If he thought any different he wouldn't have made a life gaming the system his entire life. It always amazes me that people look past the thoughts from the very people that knew him in New York. Why is it that no one supports him in his own city? I mean he's president now? Most people would hop on that wagon in an instant. Must be something there... something.

There is going to be a slowdown and some short term economic pain as we deal with the supply transition away from Chinese goods. It's necessary for our countries continued economic feasibility. Call it a recession if you want, albeit a small one in my opinion. Those who will suffer are those who are sticks in the mud and sit there and complain instead of being part of the transition. Unlike 2007/2008, plenty of opportunities to make money exist and we don't need to keep feeding the Chinese trade casino trillions of dollars to perpetually stack the deck against us.

Then you are saying the media should never cover the markets? This hasnt ever been a point of discussion before, did the bush recession get blamed on the media, Obamas rate of recovery?

Exactly.

Chump has been pushing on the market nearly every weekend since the tariffs. He makes false claims about talks with China to prop up Mondays opening.

The writing is on the wall folks.
