I didnt and still haven't to either, but to each their own..its not like criminals obey the law anyhow. If they did there would be no deaths by gunfire in Chicago with all the gun laws they have.

All this law will do is increase the number of people who will be in violation of laws they don't give a rat's arse about and wouldn't follow if they were walking past a cop.

as you were freedom lovin GOP'ers
Wrong.

Despite the incorrect headline, the bill does NOT raise the smoking age. It raises the age at which tobacco products can be purchased, to 21.

And, as anyone knows who's lived in an oppressive, nanny state with its own tobacco/alcohol purchase laws, 21-year-old adults who choose to smoke, will continue to access cigarettes--and smoke, legally.

lol Like that's a big difference. The OP isn't wrong. It's about exactly what he said. Adult enough to join the military and put your life on the line. Not responsible enough to purchase a product.

Raise the age to join the military to 21.

I thought that this sort of regulation was up to the states, not the federal government. For example, when the federal government wanted all states to raise the drinking age to 21 it had to do it indirectly by tying receipt of federal road funding to a change in the state law.

I'll have to look up the details on this one....curious now....

LOL.

McConnell isn't violating property rights the way you said. He's violating them this way.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Statism 101: Make every citizen a criminal...the more times over the better. They are less likely to speak out against tyranny if they could face possible prosecution.

Glad to help, the difference is that they say pretty different things.

I wonder how the overton window shifted so rapidly on the tobacco age without any media coverage. If they think raising the tobacco age is the answer now, why didn’t they feel the same way in the 90s?
