Magazines: In These Times, Yes, The Economist, The Week. Even though I think all news sources are biased, in some way or another. PBS can help but be biased, given their source of revenue.

BUT I guess the murder of 10 million people was news that wasn't "fit to print".

This article is by the left-wing Huffington Post....

This is as close as the NY Times comes to an apology....

Just so people remember ........the lies that went on for 50 years thanks to the NY Times and spanned generations.

To me, it's more than which source is good and which source isn't.

All of these outlets are sources of information and opinion. Information and opinions are presented and it's up to me to dig out the actual real news and filter out the spin.

The shows on TV are pretty much a waste of time for real info - so I have to read for information... plus it's more more efficient. And the fact the TV audience needs are different from the needs of a reader, you get a different presentation of the information.

I suggest learning how to skim past the nonsense in an article and find the actual real news. Some articles are about 95% fluff and has a short paragraph that's relevant near the end. If I find that a particular source has too many fluff articles, I won't make them a priority.

I do have a selection of third party news blogs that links me to articles.

I also do not use Google for searching, since they filter the news that comes up. DuckDuckGo does not filter its searches.

I ignore a lot of news but when there's something I want/need to know about I have to go online and look for multiple sources, including independent sites, commentators and forums. It's not easy TBH, and I'm sure some confirmation occurs since nothing seems non biased anymore.

I have no tv and don't subscribe to newspapers. I'm happier for it overall.
