Trump supporters like the op can't figure that stuff out. Has to be bumper sticker style stuff like "CNN bad" etc

I am still trying to understand how unwinding 40 years of multinational trade engineering over a year or two is going to be good for us. There must be some mythos being carried out by the lunatic fringe on the right stating that we can re-capture decades of double digit growth by cutting off all trade with non US business partners, and maybe returning to the gold standard. Is Trump really that stupid? This is flat-earth stuff folks.

Especially a right winger who puts up a thread stating that "nobody pays any attention to CNN".................

and then promptly puts up another thread concerning an op ed that was put out by CNN.

From what I can tell, the plan is to make imports so expensive via tariffs that Americans will buy U.S. goods.

Our goods will still be more expensive to produce than those produced in other nations, and that's before they slap retaliatory tariffs on them.

Being the only customers at our own lemonade stand is hardly a plan for prosperity.

I don't know why you Trump Humpers hate CNN so much. Every time I tune in, they've got some obsequious Trump boot licker like Rick Santorum, Steve Cortez, or "The Mooch" (until that worm recently turned bigly). MSNBC is much more openly contemptuous of Dear Leader, yet I don't see threads hating on them started on here daily.

Yes, it is a OPINION piece by a Trump supporter. However, kudos to CNN for publishing it. This is the first President to stop to trade deficit BLEEDING with China who has been taking advantage of us for decades. They only understand tough negotiations and ultimatums with someone who won't back down. They have stolen our technology, abused our markets, and engaged in unfair, criminal trade practices. It has helped to destroy American manufacturing.
