Sure it can, it is just that free capitalism is an oxymoron, with state or without. Capitalism is inherently coercive, it cannot operate without coercion.

The big question here is, when China starts interfering in the 2020 election on behalf of Trump's opponents will it be considered as big of a deal as Russia's interference in the 2016 election was?

Nope.

Capitalism is inherently free. It is merely the voluntary exchange of goods and services between consenting parties. There is nothing coercive about it whatsoever.

Why is it the duty of the State to favor American workers? Do you know how communist that sounds?

FFS, it's like MAGAs are trying to live out the Communist Manifesto all over again...
And the expense of american labor is inflated due to many interventionist policies of the state, and while tarrifs may benefit a small percentage of American workers, that benefit comes at the expense of many more American households who now pay higher prices for the same goods and thus have less money to spend on other goods and services. Its a circle of destructiveness; once the state gets involved every damaging intervention begets another.

Trump wags the dog so effortlessly these days . It can't be as sporting for him now as it once was .
Personally I think they should have stuck with the " White Nationalist " psycho hoax a little longer . At least they were in charge of the narrative with that .
But being B---- slapped by Trump as many times , ( especially the whole Mueller thing ) , as they have 3 years and running , I guess
the tendency now is just nip at the ankles and scamper as fast as you can.
What a life .

Scare China, thats a joke. Corporate greed has set the stage. Try and make a car without Chinese parts, and see the price and see how many they sell. We need them more than they need us.

Absolutely.

It's why I always refer to tariffs as "import taxes," because they're just another form of income theft.
