The NYT is an irresponsible Trump hating propaganda machine.
Trump, as he has done all of his life, has senselessly wasted his inheritance. In the case of being President of the USA, the inheritance of a strong economy, and now, in a panic, is taking us down a very dangerous path.

Trade wars can quickly turn into hot wars, and he has completely gutted the State Department, which might have helped manage this crisis of Trump's making.

This was all unnecessary, and is not about the interests of the people of the United States, it is all about the interests of Donald J. Trump.

Deny all you want and continue to blame everyone but the source of our peril; anyone with eyes and ears knows the truth and feels and sees reality. There are just some who, either out of ignorance or selfish agendas, continue to push this Trumpism and apologize and manufacture phony excuses.

Trump demands that Denmark sell Greenland.

Trump demands that all US companies leave China.

Trump demands that Mexico pay for the wall.

Trump demands that the Federal Reserve lower interest rates.

Trump demands attention. What else is new.

Its not the NYT who is irresponsible. Its Trump.

BTW here is a new nickname for our President that aptly corresponds to his demanding dictatorial demeanor. I read it somewhere, as I am not this creative, but it resonates:

President Agolf Twittler!

What's Trump been waiting for? Getting the family business tracks in China covered?

if you believe the OP, you aren't paying attention. trump isn't going to do any such thing.

Trump is negotiating with the Chinese. His way.

I admit I'm not very educated on international trade, but it is well known our nation depends entirely too much on China manufacturing and goods and that country is not our nation's friend. Even uneducated me knows that.

I also think that instead of waging a trade war with practically the whole world, the US should focus on China.

Every economist knows one of Chinas biggest fears is if American companies left their country. It’s merely a scare tactic. Trump isn’t forcing companies to do anything, Lol.
Every respectable economist will tell you the trade war and tariffs are terrible policy.
And another thing; they arent "American companies", they are private American businesses owned by American citizens, supported by American customers spending American dollars. I see no legitimate need for Trump or any other politician to forcefully intervene in any of those voluntary relationships.

So its already terrible, yet we supposedly have the best economy in the last 50 years! Which one is it?

You know you dont really believe your own words. Trump certainly dont. He's all over the place.

Other countries are doing just fine with their trade with China. Several developed countries even have a trade surplus with China. And no trade war. Perhaps you should look at the culprits at home, the ruling donor class, causing the destruction of the working class?

One question to you: Which country has ever had a thriving working class and destroyed labor unions?

Which will cause another recession and even more pain and suffering for the working class. As long as people like you refuse to find the guts to stand up to Wall Street and the billionaire class, the working class will suffer. China is a huge distraction. There is a reason why Trump is advocating manufacturing to move to countries with worse labor rights and IP protection than China.

Hahah - yeah, Trump likes it "rough" - only the bad boys for him! If it was only him "taking it in the shorts" who would care, but it's the entire country that will suffer.
