There are very good and simple ways to improve social security.

The Republican emphasis on CUTTING social security is all about reducing the employers obligation to pay (currently equal to the employee contribution), not in any way about saving the program. Their long term goal is to kill the program, which will put the employer contributions directly into the pockets of the corporate executives and the stockholders. This is what happened when employer funded pensions were killed off with the introduction of 401k plans, the corporations made a windfall.

What a disgrace. Never any money for a decent public safety net for seniors, the disabled, the sick and the poor, but always money for tax breaks, military spending and more prisons.
The military that can`t keep us safe I might add. Not on 9-11, not the schools, movie theaters, Walmart, etc. What`s the point? We were defeated on 9-11 by crazy people with $6 box cutters.

and this, although I do not have a pension it seems equally unfair to blame pensioners. Currently many local and state governments seem to be having a 'pension crisis'.

If he is foolish enough to make this decision as a solution to the bloated American deficit he may have to pay for it himself, if he runs in the next election.

Headline is TRUMP says he may begin cutting SS and Medicare

Story says this

Republicans on Capitol Hill say Donald Trump may be willing to cut Social Security and Medicare if he wins in 2020, reportedly describing the potential move as a “second-term project."

2 totally different thing because although they DO need fixed Trump didn't say it elitist establishment clowns on capitol hill did.

It's long past time to phase out SS and move to individual plans.

Ponzi schemes fail in the end.

So this is your response to being called out for your blatant lying?

I don't understand why you would choose to completely destroy any, and all of your credibly.

You must have mistyped or not thought through what you posted. Care to revise?

First of all Politifact is a leftist and discredited so called "fact checker".

More importantly I put blame on all modern presidents regarding the debt. But you being so partisan for your team want to only blame (R's) and never (D's).
Obama spent like a drunken sailor and regardless of the reason you might try to excuse it with, it is a fact.

Bush cut taxes and had unfunded mandates. You can have one, but not both. So he was not as fiscally responsible as he could have been.
Now I could play your game and say he was forced to deal with the Bill Clinton tech bubble, 9/11, AND the housing bubble (created primarily by the Democrats) as his excuse/s.
But I wont.
So don't try to play those games by saying all that Obama did was because of the previous administration.

As for 9-11, IMO we lost that day as soon as Bubba viewed the 1993 WTC attacks as a crime vs as a terrorist attack, Mid-East origin based.

The rogue terrorist uses our freedom, plus our vast square mileage size, against us. I see no answer there, and no military could assist in finding one. Freedom has costs, also.

Trump has governed like a Paul Ryan republican - beginning with a massive tax cut for the 1%. Infrastructure? Not interested. Healthcare for all? Healthcare was too hard.

Cutting SS and Medicare? That's long been a dream of Republicans. Mitch McConnell will tell Donald what to do and he will do it.

Trump has governed exactly like an 'elitist establishment clown" on capitol hill. If that is what Mitch wants - that is what Trump will do.
