Sounda good to me.... let these maga retirees/boomers pay for the deficits from billionaire and corporate tax cuts with cuts to their benefits. This Gen Xer never planned on seeing Medicare or SS when he retired anyways

Something tells me trump won't be campaigning on this though

Social Security and Medicare are going to have to be reigned in eventually, otherwise the laws of economics will do what the gutless politicians won't do.

I agree with BeerGeek.....reform is needed. My concern has always been that it be done thoughtfully, such as a tiered system or perhaps extending the age where you can first take full benefits. I'm concerned that reforms if not done thoughtfully will disparately impact lower income folks.

Next group to be targeted by Trump. Seniors.

My husband had two heart attacks, two hip replacements, and was diagnosed with Parkinson's before in his 60's. Keep working!!!!! Pay for all that yourself as well, right?

You want to see a voting "bloc"? Keep digging that hole, Trump.

Considering that the vast majority of retirees depend on social security as their primary income source, any cuts to benefits would result in millions of people becoming destitute. Social Security could easily be made solvent with changes to taxes, and barring the government to dipping into the fund for other expenditures. Trump however is intent on sky rocketing the national debt to rationalize the need to cut social security and Medicare.

America is the richest country in the world and we cant even afford to provide a basic standard of living to our seniors? Instead trillions in tax breaks for the ruling donor class is a priority.

What a disgrace. Never any money for a decent public safety net for seniors, the disabled, the sick and the poor, but always money for tax breaks, military spending and more prisons.

This is Trump's version of polling. Throw something out and if it gets applause at his rally or big talk on talk radio, he sticks to it. Does not mean he will actually do it. This was a trial balloon.

Trump is governing like a typical Republican who hates the disabled, the elderly, the sick and the poor. His talk about everyone getting healthcare and the government is going to pay for it was just a big fat lie, just like he lies everyday.

Government employee pensions at all levels are the real budget killers - make them go away and put them into social security like the rest of us. any so called double dippers can be shot at sunrise. Problem solved.
