I think there is a societal impact to moving to a country and not learning it's language. You have no communication, and without communication you do not have healthy relationships (of any kind). It also contributes to the immigrants chances for success both financially and personally.

Teaching kids manners is not child abuse. And it's generally considered bad manners to laugh at strangers for being "weird."

Could be as simple as a rebound effect. 40+ years of center-right control means this is the only government mindset my generation has known (late 30ís), even Obama was center-left. Obamacare was expansion of private insurance mostly which was a Republican idea.

If your not happy with the economy and are my age or younger there Is only one party to blame. Recession in 80ís Republican, recession in 2008 Republican, recession incoming 202 Republican.

Democrats facilitated many of those issues but they were not in power, people focus on the Party in charge when judging these issues.

i couldn't read the poll without subscribing to WSJ. But if you want to live in a country that places a very high value on religious faith, just move to Iran or Saudi Arabia. If super-patriotism is your thing, move to North Korea.

Yeah, right.

As a retired HS teacher, I had prolonged daily contact with thousands of millennials.

Just for your info, they're the ones joining the military and going into combat in the middle east. They've been doing that for years now.

So, please stow that silly cliched "today's youth" baloney.

There! I asked nicely.

Carry on.

You don't give Americans much credit for having the intelligence to figure out what is best for themselves, do you? If they don't agree with your world view it has to be due to brainwashing rather than an individual's right to choose his own life?

Well, I call BS on you!

First of all, no they are not afraid of getting their heads shot off, because Massachusetts has restrictive gun control laws and people who live in Cambridge are not likely to be carrying.

Second, there is no lack of patriotic displays in Cambridge, in the area where the American Revolution started and the beloved local football team is called the Patriots.

But yes, people here are opinionated, and if you walk around wearing a MAGA hat you might get it knocked off your head, same as if you were wearing a Yankees cap.
