Sure, it instilled discipline in students, but there were better ways to do that.

It's true and it's outstanding that we live in a free nation, but think about this: years ago (maybe now in some places), a teacher or administrator's of "God" was imposed in a public school classroom. I don't think was right. You know, there's a reason we have special, private, religious schools. What are your thoughts? For the record, I am talking about religious conservatives only.
We had the opposite. One atheist teacher pushing her agenda.

Public schools should be neutral on the subject.

No. Religion belongs a home or ones places of worship. Period I don’t care what religion it is.

People's religion, goes with them where ever they may travel.
Not believing in a higher power, is a religion too. It is the belief, that is the religion. It is what liberty is all about.

I think it still is, here.
The Congress critters mangling the Pledge of Allegiance? That was in the 1950s, as a blow meant to completely gob smack them Godless Communists; who of course would not be able to bring themselves to say God.

(Mind you, they managed to bring themselves to capture, imprison & finally execute the Czar & his entire family back when. But of course, they'd fail to cross the line of lying. & they'd have been Russian Orthodox in any event, yes? I'm not sure how they'd have regarded Christianity in the West. But I doubt that they'd trouble their souls - if any - the slightest bit about it.)

Religion has absolutely no place in public schools. Regardless of our own personal beliefs, public schools should not incorporate religion of any kind. I would hope that any reasonable, informed American would agree.

Private schools are free to do whatever they wish.

Morals are taught by your parents if you donít have morals then the blame is on them. Or you donít have a soul.

You mean atheists should be considered moraless because they don't believe in God?

Considering who you are quoting, the answer is probably yes.
