China has been waging an economic war against the United States for decades, and many of our corporate leaders, and their bought and paid for politicians have been complicit. Thanks to Trump (and many patriots surrounding him) the game has changed.
Of course there are lots of attacks on Chinese companies. It is logical and the same around the world. As soon as a company is among the leaders, it becomes attractive to spies. In the past the Chinese did the stealing of IP, now they are increasingly the targets of IP theft. What goes around comes around. And that has been the case for thousands of years, China was one of the world's first victims of industrial espionage and IP theft:

As for your “economic impact analysis”, you’re analyzing this with the mindset of a checker player, while the game is actually chess.

First, there is no desire to wreck China’s economy, as that would be counterproductive across global markets, but simply slow it down. Therefore the intention is to first stop the US hemorrhaging of trade deficit dollars that assist in China’s growth, and remap manufacturing supply channels back toward the US, and other manufacturing locations. This provides a more long term impact, as opposed to just tariffs that could be mitigated by redirecting chinese exports to other countries to make up for the reduction in exports to the US. But if you cause manufacturing corporations to pack up and relocate out of China, that capacity is lost. And this is already happening, as massive numbers of companies are moving out of China to such places as Vietnam, Malaysia, etc.

Is it having an effect on China? Absolutely. China’s 2nd Q growth was the lowest in almost 3 decades (27 years to be exact). And this is just the beginning. This is the reason why China has indicated its desire to continue trade talks with the hope of reaching a deal. I think the Chinese also anticipate that they may be stuck with Trump for another 4 years, given the clownish competition from the more chinese friendly democrats.

Can China survive a long term disruption to the lucrative and lopsided trade bonanza they have long enjoyed at US expense? Sure, and so can we, given the 4-1 ratio between our trading. The US has all of the leverage, and China knows this.
I think you are misinterpreting a lot of things...

Democrats certainly don't have a positive message.

I really expect that US and China will come to a trade agreement at some point. They have to; both sides need each other.

However, Trump's actions with tariffs has been like using a machete instead of a scalpel to perform surgery. You might achieve the desired goal, but there will be a lot of unnecessary pain and collateral damage along the way.

"It’s not right when another country lets our movies, music, and software be pirated. It’s not fair when foreign manufacturers have a leg up on ours only because they’re heavily subsidized.”

who said this?

-President Barack Obama, 1/24/2012

And what did former director of the National Security Agency Keith B. Alexander Obama's former NSA Chief say about US-China trade?

called Chinese industrial espionage "the greatest transfer of wealth in history".

We've been negotiating trade with China since the 70's when Nixon opened up China. In 1979, the United States became the second largest importer to China and in 1986 was China's third largest partner in overall trade.

And Dems want to have more "talks"? We've been getting screwed for 40 years. Trump's the first President that has the balls to take on this festering issue.

That claim was already odd back then. In the West there are also lots of subsidies, and with state-owned companies one can't speak of subsidies. The state is simply the investor. At the end of the day, what matters is that a country doesn't practice dumping, which is controlled by the WTO.

American music and movies are pirated all over the world, not just in China. Same goes for Latin America and parts of Europe for instance.

There is no greater evidence of this than the woefully uninformed opinions of the drooling left regarding China, and what the Trump Administration is dealing with, and what the strategy is.

While totally immersed in the phony hoax of Russia Collusion, the left is completely clueless to the greatest threat facing the United States, and all of the Western nations and the respective economic futures, which is China. Furthermore, what has been erroneously labeled a matter of tariffs versus free trade, the situation with China is exponentially more complex. This is a matter of long term, geopolitical strategy, and will ultimately and dramatically shape global economics for decades to come. Continuing the status quo of going along to get along will ultimately allow China to be successful in their decades long and ongoing efforts to establish themselves as the preeminent and dominant global economic force, reducing the West to that of a vassal partner, subject to Chinese will, and Chinese interests.

The overall theme of MAGA has been so bastardized by leftwing globalist propaganda, that much of the general public has been reduced to viewing this with childlike vision. The truth is, MAGA is a geopolitical strategy against globalism, and Trump is not making all of these decisions and plans on his own, or in a vacuum. He was recruited for this enormous and urgent task by elements within our country who have a much deeper understanding of the history and threat we’re dealing with regarding globalism, and the ongoing efforts in the globalist plan to totally deindustrialize the United States, and what that will ultimately lead to, if not stopped now. The facts are, for the past 20-30 years, the globalists have been playing Chess, while the public has been trained to believe the game is checkers. The ultimate strategy of the globalists is to wrest the United States of its global economic super power status, and relocate it to China. Should they be successful, the American people, in all of their clueless ignorance are going to wake up to a reality they are not going to enjoy at all. Nobody is prepared for what that future would look like. Think of San Francisco or Seattle as the poster children, and best case scenario for what to expect. Think Detroit, for worst case.

When I hear idiots calling Trump an idiot ... I hold my hands to my head and pray they are enough of a minority so that they will not be successful in 2020 in removing Trump for another globalist shill, who will restore the old game-plan Trump is now dismantling.

For those anti-Trumpers out there .. please educate yourselves, and stop listening to the fake news nonsense being fed you. At this point, enough has already been revealed that there is simply no excuse for remaining so ignorant.

If you want to truly understand what is at stake here, try to summon enough attention to take in the following discussion which lays out the very complex and critical moment in history we’re now seeing unfold ...

After just the first few lines of your post, I could tell you've watched Steve Bannon. You guys are PARANOID. LOL. Seriously, are you the type to compare how big your backyard is to your neighbor's? Do you get pissed that the guy who lives across the road from you has a nicer truck? Dude, you have a great life in Trumpmerica, enjoy it and stop worry about other people. It will drive you crazy.

Chinese Vice Premier Liu- "China is willing to resolve its trade dispute with the United States...."

Then why is Trump lying about China contacting him? Is this one of those threads designed to spin? He sounds desperate.

"...One day later, China is still insisting no phone calls took place over the weekend that President Donald Trump claimed showed its willingness to talk again...

..“I have not heard of this situation regarding the two calls that the U.S. mentioned in the weekend,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said at press conference on Tuesday. He had denied on Monday that the calls had taken place..."

I can only speak for myself, but in this whole mess I am usually on China's side. Not because I wanted to or because I thought China had a nice government, but because of my strong dislike for the US of today, well, of the past couple of decades ever since WWII actually. The world really needs an anti-American power and movement in order to save the world from the destructive, obtrusive, antisocial American way. I prefer the presence of several rogue states neutralizing each other.
