Then why is Trump lying about China contacting him? Is this one of those threads designed to spin? He sounds desperate.

If I were China, I would say to the Americans, get a trustworthy, decent president and we will do a trade deal we can both live with.

First off--he does not think, period. He just opens his mouth and words come out--sometimes not even the right words (oranges of the investigation). Any words--it does not matter to him if they are true or not, as Trump cannot actually distinguish between the two. When he has to publicly say something real, someone writes it for him and he reads it.
He lives in an alternate universe in his head and cannot remember 10 minutes afterward what he said. He's even been shown the clips of himself saying something and continues denying he said it. Rather scary proposition that the president of the US doesn't know reality from fiction, but that is where we are.
Great interview with Steve Bannon by The Epoch Times, which has the best coverage of the ChiComs. He's spoken about the danger of China for years to audiences all over the world. He lived and owned businesses in China so has lots of contacts 'on the ground.' Compelling listening.
