Explain how attending that meeting would produce results? The fires would still burn.

Next question?
We already sent the largest fire bombing aircraft in existence.

Throughout history, there have always been a certain percentage of people who scoffed at things, and they ended up being dead wrong in the end. Climate deniers, and now, these Amazon fire deniers, have their heads in the sand (or somewhere else) and they really think that the impact of this massive burn will do nothing to our little planet.

It is a good thing that the rest of the world is not listening to us, and are taking control of this situation to find a solution. God knows, the illiterate buffoon in the White House doesn't know how to tie his own shoes, let alone understand a complicated subject like the environment.

Buy a plane ticket down there and start a revolution to overthrow those governments.

What do you think we should do?
Do you think it was a a terrible thing for President Trump to not attend the meeting? If so Why (other than the fact he is the evil President Trump)? He did send aides there. Was he or any of the other attendees people who were needed there?
You do know that this slash and burn has been going on for a long time.
I believe over 40% of the Amazon Rainforest is in protected areas. Over 1,000,000 square miles. How large of an area needs to be protected?
Did you know the 20% of the world's oxygen figure is not true?

It seems many believe all ~5 million square kilometers of the forest will burn to the ground. Fires happen, nature will work it out just fine and in a month or so no one will even be talking about it.

Head on down there and help overthrow those governments.
