You aren't comparing them with other Americans!

In the GWB admin there was a scandal where it was supposed that 100's of the "top people" in the administration and Pentagon had mail-order diplomas. It would have been difficult for them to be millennials.....in 2004 and fully mature and graduated......

I think we can all agree that Americans are poorly educated compared to many other countries. Heck, look at the threads here about abolishing all education! People here celebrate being clueless.

How many Adults do you think could have found Sudan, Iraq and Afghanistan on a map in 2003? 50%? I doubt it.

Actually, they are compared to other Americans in the article:

Got that? Millennials are even further behind.

Those "socialist safety nets" are paid for by people that work. Personally, I'd much rather not pay into it and self fund, but then we won't have enough money for those that leach off those "socialist safety nets" that don't pay into them.

As far as this whole "blame the millennial's" thing is funny. Sure, a 13 or 14 year old from the 60's or 70's seems like they were much more mature than today's 20 somethings but parenting is to blame for it. And who are the parents ? The people complaining.

Let that sink in...

"But surely America’s brightest were on top?

Nope.

And how many POC posters talk about useless degrees? IMO, they would turn universities into trade schools for engineers and accountants.

A friend complained to me that her son went all the through a well know high school and never had to write a research paper.

I've seen it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. Yes many Millennials are brainwashed too right along with Gen Z. Hell, some Gen X'ers took the bait too.

That's one experience of one Millennial. While he was learning nothing, school friends of my son (I have two very successful adult Millennials) were doing this:

My kids have had research papers from third grade on.

My kids have had research papers from third grade on.
Any kid in that school who was halfway decent in any sport had $125K a year coaches running interference for them. They were registered in classes they never had to attend. The school is one of the top Houston area high schools.

I didn't say all were that way. My grandson had a perfect SAT score, and free college and income all through a PhD.

My point is that people need to pay attention to what their kids are taking and learning. That's not happening as much as needed. Mom's too beat from work and housework. And many parents trust the schools until it is too late.
