If Millenials are dumb or naive about anything, it is believing their elders.
A "college education" seems to have done very little for millennials. As the OECD's PIAAC results show...

"U.S. millennials with master’s degrees and doctorates did better than their peers in only three countries, Ireland, Poland and Spain...The ETS study noted that a decade ago the skill level of American adults was judged mediocre. “Now it is below even that.” So Millennials are falling even further behind.

Top-scoring US millennials – the 90th percentile on the PIAAC test – were at the bottom internationally, ranking higher only than their peers in Spain. The bottom scorers (10th percentile) also lagged behind their peers."

So our kids are at near bottom. Wonder how that happened. Could it be their stupid parents?

Who writes college textbooks and decides what to teach? Yada yada yada

I am the grandmother of 2 younger millennials and see their SO often. All 4 are in grad school, none have any debt. Their schools paid them to attend.

Kinda late now to be moaning about dumb kids. Many of the older millennials have nealy grown kids. will they be any brighter?

Is 'Idiocracy' a documentary?

When I try to answer, "I don't know anything!"
Having seen the way the grumpy old conservatives on this board use the word "socialism", I will take my chance with the Millennials. The ones who honor me with their acquaintance work hard, use their heads, and care about each other and even the planet.

I’m saying that from everything the non critical thinking conservatives stand for and will not allow others to live their lives. All the laws passed anti progress, school teachers who don’t allow hair styles different from their own, anti music / self expression, can’t speak español to my own mother in public, and so forth. Different sexual adult preferences, clothing - Control freaks -

Their "stupid parents" are not handing out Master's Degrees and PhDs like candy on Halloween, so why are even US millennials with advanced degrees at the bottom of the barrel?

No, it's reality here in the US.

No free stuff then? This boomer had more access to college aid in 1970 than her children did in 1997 and her grandchildren do now.....

This is illegible.

One kid graduated from UT in 82, the other Rice, 84. The total cost of 4 years, all expenses for both is less than half what a year at Rice is now. That's way more than inflation can account for.

And it is not faculty pay or retirement.

You might want to rethink that. Look at the top public employee pensioners in IL. Most are state uni retirees:

Yep but people continue to say it is admin and the luxurious dorms... The fact is costs went up especially the texts.
