This one sad story, but I also find beauty in this story do to the fact that this young teen cares about his community, cares about the economic health of his community, while also improving the community political outlook and image. The community this teen comes from is a black American community. During the past few days, black America went crazy due to a new product from Popeyes Chicken going viral on Twitter which became a trending topic. Millions and millions of Americans within the niche racial demographic lined up in droves to purchase chicken sandwiches from Popeyes Chicken. While folks are waiting for to order chicken sandwiches from Popeyes. This young teen took the time and effort to have folks waiting for chicken, to be registered for voting. In a few hours, the young teen had a about a handful of Popeyes customers registered to vote.
I really commend this kid for what he did, and his civic action in order to have people to get the vote out. It is sad that folks care more about GMO chicken, instead of voting for your future and your dollars.
A lot of people probably don't realize how easy it is to register to vote. Good for this kid for getting more people involved.
Agreed. I have to commend this kid for his actions man. Folks worry about the latest product at Popeyes chicken, but not about their community. You can't make this stuff up.

Not sure how it works in the US, but in the UK you generally get a form which you must fill in every year, which shows the residence at that address and their age.
Failure to return the form or to fill it in correctly can result in prosecution.
That is how you register, and the current forms just give you an id number so you can do it on-line in a couple of minutes.

Not so in the U.S.. It's up to each individual state so the majority put the onus on the voter to get registered. You can infer what you will when certain areas find it advantageous to have as few registered voters as possible.

You are kidding, right? Black people lining up for fried chicken sandwiches? Isn't that a little racist to presume that blacks would be the ones lining up for chicken sandwiches?
On the other hand, the kid registering people to vote shows initiative and he should be commended.
Are activists allowed to register people to vote while wearing a t-shirt advertising a candidate? Or a candidate wearing her shirt while registering people to vote?
